The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, welcomed the Ambassador of Sweden, Mr. Joachim Waern, at the Presidential Palace yesterday. Their discussions focused on enhancing the positive relationship between Somaliland and Sweden.
Both parties explored ways to strengthen bilateral ties and discussed the Swedish government’s ongoing support for social development initiatives in Somaliland.
The meeting also covered key topics such as the upcoming elections in Somaliland, regional security, and stability in the Horn of Africa. The President underscored Somaliland’s commitment to demonstrating its legitimacy on the international stage and expressed the nation’s determination to meet the criteria for recognition as a sovereign state.
Accompanying the President was Ms. Rooda Jama Cilmi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
