Somaliland-Somalia talks to resume in Djibouti

A high-level delegation headed by the President of Somaliland H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi has today departed for Djibouti to participate in another round of talks between Somaliland and Somalia. President Bihi and his delegation will reportedly meet there the President of the Federal Government of Somalia H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud.

A brief press statement published on the Facebook of the Presidency of Somaliland reads:

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Muse Bihi Abdi and a delegation led by him went on a working trip to the Republic of Djibouti. The delegation will participate in a presidential-level talk between Somaliland and Somalia.

The President is accompanied by the Minister of Finance Dr. Saad Ali Shire, Minister of National Planning and Development Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Diriye (Toorno), Minister of Interior Affairs Mr. Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, Minister of Education and Science Mr. Ahmed Adan Buxane and the Special Envoy of Somaliland in charge of Somaliland-Somalia dialogue Mrs. Edna Adan Ismail.

This will be the first time President Bihi and President Mohamoud are going to have official talks in the past two years. The details and the agenda items of the talks are yet to be known.
