Dear President-Elect Trump:
On behalf of the people of Somaliland, and that on my own behalf as a citizen of my nation Somaliland, I would like to extend our cordial congratulations on your today’s momentous triumph. Please know that you can count on our best wishes alongside the future cooperation as we both assume the onuses of our cherished democratic nations of Somaliland Republic and the United States.
I wish you becoming the incumbent President of the United States of America soon, as the inauguration of the White House is scheduled on Friday the 20th of January 2017. Whilst, wishing you and your family happiness, continued health and many exhilaration and joy, and I send my best wishes for the peace, harmony and well‐being of your country and its people.
I would also like to take the opportunity to introduce you the vision driving our country’s Foreign Relations, which is the pursuit of ‘’A peaceful, regionally prosperous and globally competitive Somaliland, and the ultimate national project is to uphold and safeguard Somaliland’s interests by exhibiting an attractive image globally through innovative diplomacy, and contribute towards a just, peaceful, and equitable world”.
I am confident that humanitarian, development and democratic support to my country will be further developed. The people of the Republic of Somaliland and their government are highly expecting to improve and sustain the political, economic and cultural ties based on democracy, freedom and self-liberty between Somaliland and the United States of America.
The fundamental basis of our constitution is democracy, freedom, rule of law and self-liberty, this will commence on the grounds of our people’s political choice. Therefore, every elect party will stand for those values and beliefs. We are welcoming a new, tougher cooperation between Somaliland and the United States of America to be developed, bringing our two countries and their people even closer together.
As a Somaliland national, and on the behalf of my people and government, I will be very grateful to see this event taking place in the near future, diplomatically Somaliland believe that it is the time for further economic, political and security partnership between the two countries.
To close, I would again like to express my gratitude and to congratulate you on your excellence election victory. I would also express beforehand on behalf of the people of the Republic of Somaliland, who are democratic and self-determined people in the Horn of Africa are ready to open a new progressive door between our two countries.
People of Somaliland envisage a remarkable progress to strengthen the bilateral relations between United States of America and the Republic of Somaliland. Please know that we hope for nothing but your continued success and that of your country.
