Background
| Somaliland Y-PEER believes that volunteerism is a crucial youth development approach and that volunteerism offers young people the chance to try out a new career without making a long-term commitment. Y-PEER has been providing training on volunteerism for the youth across Somaliland’s regions for over a year to create a pool of talented and skilled youth available for volunteer work in Somaliland. The goal is to train 1,000 youth and adolescents between the ages of 18 and 35.
Volunteer training is the process of giving volunteers the skills and knowledge they need to support youth and gain experience-based knowledge. Volunteerism is a form of helping in which people actively seek out opportunities to assist others in need, make considerable and continuing commitments to provide assistance, and sustain these commitments over extended periods of time, often at considerable personal cost. The volunteer program contributes to the local community by providing rewarding opportunities for local residents to enjoy and learn from the collections and benefit from the skills and expertise of staff and other volunteers. Volunteer initiatives Training gives young people a framework within which they can support vulnerable people and connect them to the larger community. |
| Objective of engaging the consultant
The general purpose of the consultant is to develop the volunteer manual and job replacement strategy Specific objective of the consultant ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Developing new manual for volunteer initiative ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Establishing guidelines annexes policy ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Creating the job replacement strategy ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Reforming the structure of the program. Task execution methodology The consultant will design the manual with reviewing the national constitution and national youth policy Reporting and follow up Selected research consultant/institution Budget Financial proposal must be indicated all-inclusive costs for development of the manual. Requirement ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Minimum Master degree of education or curriculum development or relevant field. ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Updated CV and cover letter explaining your strength and experience ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Detailed and clear interpretation of ToR ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Detailed budget and breakdown cost of what cost covers the manual development.
